What's IN?

Many of you are probably all wondering the same thing, or have asked yourselves the same question. "What is IN this summer?" Well, luckily for you, I have the scoop!!

This season's Make-up is all about COLOUR. Play around with it and have FUN!
BOLD lips, Fuchsia and Orange are big ones. Fun for the day, or also a night out. Bright colours not your thing? Don't worry, Burgundy is also a big hit, especially for a night out. However, if you are going for a bold lip, try to keep the rest of your make-up colours to a minimum, try a neutral eye but apply mascara or false eyelashes to make them "pop".

BRIGHT eyes!! Orange, Green, Turquoise, Purple, Pink & Green, all of which are colours that will enhance your eyes and make them stand out! If you are comfortable enough doing this, make sure you keep your lips to a neutral colour, or a light pink. Add a bit of Blush for rosy cheeks and you're set to make heads turn!!
Not into the bright colours? That's ok too. Try just a regular smokey eye, or try a smokey eye using different shades of colours. Smokey eyes are always in!

Wavy Hair!! Look like you are always at the beach with a tousled look. Blake Lively, Mary-Kate & Ashley & Nicole Richie are all beautiful women who are known for there tousled locks. Try getting this look by spritzing a volumizing gel (I love Herbal Essences, Tousle me Softly Spraying Gel) in your wet hair. Blow dry with your defuzzer with hair flipped over so you are looking at the ground while blow drying for extra volume. When dry, you can apply a mousse for extra hold if you would like. (I usually tend to skip this step.) With a curling iron, take big sections of hair and lightly curl, OR take your rounded straightener and just fold hair over the curled edges, creating a "wavy" effect. Another great tool to use would be using a Triple Barrel Curling Iron, which would probably be the easiest and fastest way to get this look. (I need to purchase one of those!!!!!)
Some other hairstyles that are in this Summer are: Messy buns, Ballerina Buns (Prime & Proper top knots are HUGE),  BRAIDS!!!!! (Messy ones, Around Face, Fishtails & Waterfalls are big ones.) And last but not least, Wild Curls.

As for your Nails... Nudes with a high-gloss, Tiffany Blue, Peachy Keen Pink, Lavender, Greys and don't forget about Crackle!!!!

Whats your favorite things to wear this summer?

Must try products

Today I was thinking about starting to post some new blogs that I have not blogged about yet. I am going to start blogging more about make-up, tips, beauty, fashion and much more! Plus keep you all informed with what I have also been up to. What do you guys think about that?
For this post I was going to list some products I think YOU should try. (They are my fav's.)

1. NARS Blush in: Orgasm- This is one of my "go to" blushes, and looks good on all skin types. It's really neutral, but has a bit of shimmer to it, giving you a ravishing glow to your face.

2. Maybelline: Falsies Mascara- This is my new Fav!!! It gives you the illusion of wearing false eyelashes, yet it is your little secret. ;) The curved wand gives your lashes the curve and length you have always wanted.

3. MAC: Matte- For oily or shiny skin. A matte cream that acts like a powder. Use this alone or under make-up to reduce the appearance of shine. Apply all over t-zone. I use this product on all my oily skinned clients, you really should try it, works beautifully!!

4. MAC: Shroom Eyeshadow- A very pretty pale/soft beige with a bit of shimmer. Very pretty over a dark brown eyeshadow or worn alone.

5.  MAC: Dazzlelight- My go to highlight colour. I love this colour!!! A neutral with a bit of a purple hue of shimmer, which hits the light beautifully when placed correctly on the eye.

I hope you all enjoyed this new type of blog, would love to hear your reviews/thoughts on it!! Maybe some of you will go out and try these products, or if you already have, let me hear your thoughts about them!!
Til next time.

Up-to-date Client pics

Hello all you lovely readers!
I finally got the urge to re-design and fool around a bit with my blog! Do you guys like it? It is totally more me!! haha I added a bunch of new features and pages, so go check them out!!!!
Anyways, here are a few updated pics of some of my latest work. I have more on the way but here's a few for now..  All hair and make-up done by myself; Glamourknot, photography done by; tobeframed.ca

The lovely 3 models.. from left to right; Ashlei, Charlene & Linda.

On Ashlei, I used purple shadows, with a semi-nude lipstick, along with some darker blush for a glowing finish.

Linda is wearing more of a smokey eye with greys, blacks and silvers, along with a brighter pink lipstick.

Charlene is wearing pink shadows, along with some frost colours to bring out her eyes. She had eyelash extensions so I did nothing to her lashes. Her lips have a bright-ish pink on, and there is a swipe of nude pink on her cheeks.

I had lots of fun with these ladies! They all had a cheerful, positive attitude which made their "girls day"  that much more fun!

Cheers & bubbles,

Client pics, con't..

Hello readers,
As you can see, I haven't posted in a while. I have been busy with packing (we're moving) and with school that I haven't had the time to post the last client pics I had the same weekend as those before. So here they are! Enjoy! :) (All hair & makeup done by; Glamourknot, Photography done by; www.tobeframed.ca )

Leyna is this 1st gorgeous model, and also, happens to be my soon-to-be sister-in-law!! :) She asked me to do a dark eye on her, so I did just that!! I made it into a dark smokey eye, with a dark pink lipstick.

This 2nd gorgeous model is Nicole. I was so excited to do her makeup!! Not just because she is beautiful already, but because I got to play around with her stunning red locks!! (Which I haven't had the pleasure to do with a model yet!) I was ubber excited to put a super bright red lip on her! I didn't want the lipstick to over power her, so I gave her a neutral brown eye.

Nicole (yes, another one!) wanted to play around a bit with her makeup, but since she is still in her teens I didn't want to do too much to over power her. I played around with a sparkly liquid eyeliner, lining her top lids. I used pink for her eyeshadow colours and stayed neutral for her lips. I also decided to pull back a bit of her hair to keep it away from her face to showcase her natural glow!

Shona was my final model of the weekend, who brought her daughter with her. Her daughter couldn't believe how much younger she looked after! I used green eyeliner and brown eyeshadow on her eyelids and a brown lipstick.

So, many of you might be wondering why this final picture is a lot different then the others. Well, this model just so happens to be none other then myself!! My photographers and I wanted to play around a bit when we had a bit of extra time over the weekend, so I came up with the idea of doing a "Glamour Biker Chick" kinda look. Leather jacket, faux leather leggings/tights, Harley Davidson motorcycle boots, and a Elvira type hairstyle?! bahaha The red lips & ubber dark eyeshadow just polished the look off! I particularly loved the lighting in this pic, which I think really finished it all. What do you guys think?

Til next time, Sarah xo

Another gorgeous model..

Last Saturday we also had another Krista come in and model for us. She was an old high school friend and we had not seen each other since those days, so it was a lot of fun! She wanted a smokey eye of some kind, so I decided to do just that! I made it a bit more sexy though, using pigments with sparkles to make her shine. The colours consisted of blacks, greys, silvers and whites. I used just a gloss at first on her lips, and changed it up half way through the shoot putting a deep red lipstick on for more of a sexy look. Her bubbly attitude made it all the more fun! I know you guys can't wait to see a picture, so I won't hold you any longer; here is Krista's final look with just gloss on.
The photographers at tobeframed.ca also decided to take a picture behind the scenes of me applying Krista's lipstick change half way through the shoot, so I decided I would share one of them with you also!
Enjoy, yours truely, Sarah :)
